Stage II Fire Restrictions

Petroglyph National Monument announces Stage 2 fire restrictions effective immediately. All visitors are required to reduce the potential for human caused wildfires by following these guidelines:

♦Smoking is prohibited on all monument trails.

♦Smoking is restricted to the inside of vehicles parked in paved parking lots.

♦Cigarette butts must be disposed of in ash trays.

♦No wood or charcoal fires allowed in the monument.

♦Backcountry visitors must use caution when parking where hot vehicle exhaust could spark a wildfire.

We strongly urge all visitors and residents surrounding Petroglyph National Monument to follow the Stage 2 restriction guidelines to protect lives, resources, and property within the monument and its surrounding communities.
