HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS CONTINUE

To increase accessibility for handicapped visitors, Haleakalā National Park is implementing parking lot construction projects throughout the Summit District. Construction is scheduled for the Haleakalā Visitor Center parking lot (near the summit) from May 20 through June 6. During this time, parking spaces for vehicles and buses at this visitor center parking lot during sunrise and daylight hours will be reduced by 50%.Vehicles will be redirected by park staff if feasible and parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. All vehicles must be cleared from delineated construction zones prior to 6:45 a.m. on weekdays during the construction period. Any vehicles remaining after 6:45 a.m. will be ticketed and towed at the operator's expense. Visitors and tour operators may experience parking delays.
