Beaufort Inlet Beach on Shackleford Banks is Closed to Swimming

HARKERS ISLAND, NC - Superintendent Pat Kenney announced today the closure of the beach on the very west end of Shackleford Banks along Beaufort Inlet to swimming. “No Swimming" signs along the beach will mark the closed area. Strong currents have made this closure necessary for visitor safety. Ocean and sound beaches away from the inlet remain open to swimming.
