The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 22, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

Park Ranger Dustin Beaty will be presenting a back porch program about snakes at the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a live corn snake and a live black rat snake. Participants will become more familiar with these misunderstood reptiles. Visitors will learn what precautions to take while participating in outdoor activities, what to do when they see snakes, and what to do if bitten.

In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the Interpretation and Education Building located beside the Bandy Creek Visitor Center.
