Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday is a Fee Free Day at Big South Fork

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will be observing Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday on Monday January 20th by authorizing free backcountry camping permits and one night of free camping at Alum Ford Campground. Take advantage of the cool weather to camp out with no bugs and humidity! For more information about the fee waivers, you may call the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at (423) 286-7275.

Other Fee Free Days during 2014 include February 15-17 to commemorate Presidents Day weekend, April 19-20 to celebrate the opening weekend of National Park Week, August 25 to celebrate National Park Service Birthday, September 27 to observe National Public Lands Day, and November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
