Fee Free Day at Wright Brothers on January 19

Wright Brothers National Memorial will waive entry fees on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 in recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.Wright Brothers National Memorial will join nearly 400 other national park sites across the country in celebration of this special day as part of an effort to encourage visitors to experience the wonders of their national parks.

The staff of Wright Brothers National Memorial, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Cape Hatteras National Seashore encourages everyone to visit one of our nation's premier parks this year, including the parks in your own backyard. "Bring your family and friends to Wright Brothers, the site of the first powered flight, and learn more about this great nation's aviation history.Enjoy exploring the nation's first national seashore, and visit the site of the first English settlement," invites Superintendent Dave Hallac.

In addition to the fee waiver for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Wright Brothers National Memorial will offer free admission on eight other days throughout 2015.The other fee-free dates for this year are:February 14-16 (President's Day weekend);April 18-19 (National Park Week opening weekend);August 25 (National Park Service's 99th anniversary);September 26 (National Public Lands Day);and November 11 (Veterans Day.)

Entrance fees are not charged at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site or Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
