BOULDER CITY, Nevada - A nearly $4 million construction project to improve roads within Lake Mead National Recreation Area will begin March 2.
Pavement preservation will be conducted near the park entrance station near Henderson, Nevada, from Lake Mead Parkway to mile marker 20.6 on Northshore Road. This process will provide a longer lasting pavement with a surface that is smoother for cyclists.
Internal roads at the Boulder Beach area will also be resealed.
Construction will occur on weekdays. Visitors may experience up to 15-minute delays. The project is scheduled to be completed by May 22.
Funding for the project was provided by National Park Service Cyclic Maintenance and Federal Land Transportation programs. The contractor is Eagle Peak Rock & Paving, Inc., from Alturas, California.
