Catoosa County Schools Receive Transportation Funding to visit the Park
Fort Oglethorpe, GA: Eastern National Bookstore, a partner of the National Park Service, presented a check to the Catoosa County Public Schools on Monday, March 23, 2015, that will assist schools with transportation costs for students to visit Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Catoosa County school teachers can begin utilizing these funds as soon as possible. For those teachers interested in bringing their students to the park, please contact Tom Tyler or Lisa Miller at the Catoosa County Public Schools Central Office for funding request forms.
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is excited about this partnership with Catoosa County schools. In 2015, the National Park Service is asking the American public to "Find Their Park," and these funds will definitely help students find their local national park.It is the park's hope that ranger-led education programs will connect with and create the next generation of park visitors, supporters and advocates.
