No Cave Tours Monday, May 18, at Wind Cave National Park

WIND CAVE NATIONAL PARK, S.D.- There will be no tours of Wind Cave on Monday, May 18, as electricians install a new backup generator for the cave. While work is expected to be completed Monday, there is a possibility of the installation project rolling over into Tuesday morning. Visitors are encouraged to call the park at 605-745-4600 Tuesday morning to check on the status of the project or visit the park's

Tours of the world's sixth-longest cave are normally offered throughout the day with the first tour leaving at 9 a.m. and the last one going in at 4 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a light sweater or coat and wear

good walking shoes. All tours leave from the visitor center.
