Everglades announces closures in preparation for Tropical Storm Eria

In the interest of public safety, due to the approach of Tropical Storm Erika, Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks will be closing to visitors at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 29.

Although the storm’s future track and intensity remain uncertain at this time, the storm is currently forecast to move across south Florida bringing tropical storm force winds, heavy rain and possible flooding. The parks will remain closed at least until Tuesday, September 1 at noon, or until the storm passes and potential clean-up requirements are completed.

WHAT: In the interest of public safety, due to the approach of Tropical Storm Erika, Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks will be closing to visitors.

WHEN: Both parks will close at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, and will remain closed at least until Tuesday, September 1 at noon, or until the storm passes and potential clean-up requirements are completed.
