Tree Removal and Trimming at Indian Garden, September 28-30, 2015

Grand Canyon, Ariz. -Tree removal and trimming will occur adjacent to the Bright Angel Trail near the Indian Garden day-use area Monday, September 28 through Wednesday, September 30.

The work may delay hikers for up to 15 minutes while crews take down tree limbs and trunks. To ensure the trail is cleared and it is safe to pass, hikers should listen to and follow all directions from crew members.

Next year, Grand Canyon National Park will use a heavy lift helicopter to replace water pumps at the Indian Garden pumphouse. This tree trimming and removal project will provide safe helicopter operations.
