Superintendent George Price announces that Cape Cod National Seashore will host an end of season celebration for the summer's Healthy Parks, Healthy People program on Oct. 15, 2015 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, 50 Nauset Road, Eastham. The event will celebrate the end of the first season of Healthy Parks, Healthy People walking and wellness program in partnership with Cape Cod Healthcare.
Price is pleased to announce a successful first season, and is looking forward for many more to come. Participants were given maps and guides for five different walking trails, as well as the opportunity to meet with Cape Cod Healthcare physicians, nurses and athletic trainers to give blood pressure readings, weight and body mass, and height. "This is a way for all of us to get healthier while enjoying nature and all the resources the Cape has to offer. We would like to give a special thanks to Cape Cod Healthcare for spearheading this well organized health program," said Superintendent Price. The program served many enthusiasticpeople from July to mid-October, and the program is hoping for an even bigger participation next year.

* 9am-10am -Yoga
* 10:30am-11:00am -Tai Chi
* 11:05am-11:20am -Health People, Health Park Successes
* 11:20am-11:30am -Recognize Top Health Parks, Healthy People Walkers
* 11:30am-12:00pm -Fitness Demonstrations
* 12:00pm -Announce Raffle Winners
Local supporters of the Healthy Parks, Healthy People walking program such as the Department of Veteran Affairs in Providence, RI, Vet Outreach Center in Hyannis, OneCape Health News, Cape Cod Hospital Rehabilitation Services, Orleans Winters Farmers Market, Heart Core Fitness, and more will also be attending the event.
