The National Weather Service has issued a high surf warning that can generate sneaker waves and is in effect until 4 am Tuesday. Westerly swells are predicted at 15 to 18 feet.
When visiting the beach today, please allow additional distance between yourself, including anyone in your party, and the water. This allows the waves to run up the beach.
A high surf warning indicates dangerous, battering waves will hit the shoreline and result in very dangerous swimming conditions, including sneaker waves and rip currents. Swimmers should always swim near a lifeguard.
