“State of the Seashore” Presentation Scheduled for October 12

Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price will host a "State of the Seashore" program on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:30 PM at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. The program is free, accessible, and open to the public.

During the one-hour program, Superintendent Price will highlight many of the projects that were accomplished in 2016, including several exciting Centennial events;facility improvements;erosion at Nauset Light Beach; the status of the Comprehensive Shorebird Management Plan and restoration plans for Herring River; completion of the bicycle and pedestrian master plan; and an innovative approach to turf management at Highland Links.

Superintendent Price will also look ahead to 2017, and provide plans and updates related to repairs to the Red Maple Swamp Trail; upcoming structural repairs at Highland Light;the Every Kid in a Park campaign; upgrades to park amphitheaters;continued work on Highland Light; budget projections; construction; and funding needs related to historic buildings and trails that are in disrepair. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
