Special guests Marcus Erkesen and Anna Cummins, co-founders of 5-Gyres will be available for questions after the film. 5-Gyres is an organization that has sailed throughout the world's waters identifying garbage patches, with the goal of "empowering action against the global health crisis of plastic pollution through science, art, education, and adventure."Their research in the Great Lakes was directly responsible for the recent federal law banning microbeads in facial and beauty products. 5-Gyres has brought the issue of plastic pollution to the forefront of the world's attention, and it is an honor to host them on Cape Cod, where they can help raise local awareness of the plastics issue.
