February Public Programs at War in the Pacific National Historical Park
February 4, Saturday: at Ga’an Point - “Paint in the Park"
Make a mark in your park during our artist led painting sessions! Come and embrace your creativity and learn about the rich history, culture, and natural resources of War in the Pacific National Historical Park. This event is open to participants age 12 and above, including adults. Painting sessions start at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Registration is required (details at http://go.usa.gov/x97Kg), and art supplies will be provided free of charge. The painting session will be led by our 2017 Artist-in-Residence, Amber Word.
Feb. 11, Saturday: 9 am at Ga’an Point - “Keep Guam Beautiful"
This community cleanup will take place at Ga’an Point in Agat - a former WWII invasion beach. Cold water in coolers, protective gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Please bring refillable water bottles and wear closed-toe shoes, hats, and sunscreen.
Feb. 18, Saturday: 2 pm at Visitor Center - “The Right to Fight"
In celebration of African-American History Month, we are inviting the public to a presentation on the role of African American servicemen in the Pacific Theater of WWII. Learn fascinating and inspiring facts about many valuable contributions that earned African-Americans high praises and commendation for their struggles and sacrifices. (1.5 hours)
Feb. 19, Sunday: 2 pm at Visitor Center - “Science Sunday"

Feb. 25, Saturday: 7 pm at Asan Beach - “Movies in the Park - Red Tails"
In honor of African-American History Month, we will be featuring the movie Red Tails. Red Tails tells the story of the famed Tuskegee Airman. Having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty. Please bring water, flashlights, insect repellant and your beach chair, or mat. The film will be shown on a large screen and is free. The film is rated PG-13.
