National parks within the Outer Banks Group recorded 3,162,854 visits in 2016, the National Park Service’s centennial year.
“In 2016, all three national parks on the Outer Banks received increased visitation, including the largest yearly visitation total at Cape Hatteras National Seashore since 2003," said Outer Banks Group Superintendent David Hallac.
