National Jr. Ranger Day at Effigy Mounds NM

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on April 1, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Join us at Effigy Mounds National Monument on April 22, 2017 for National Junior Ranger Day. Children of all ages are invited to join us from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to learn about Three Sisters gardening, a type of companion gardening used by Native Americans in this area 1,000 years ago. Each child will have the opportunity to plant their own seed to bring home.

Don’t forget your hiking shoes. We encourage you to grab a Jr. Ranger activity book and head out on the trail after the program.
