On Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Sagamore Hill NHS will be participating in I Love My Park Day. Interested volunteers will be assisting Sagamore Hill staff prepare for the upcoming summer season. Activities will include beach clean-up, raking leaves, weeding around the garden, and sign cleaning. Non-latex gloves and garbage bags will be provided. Please dress appropriately for this activity, location, and the weather. Please assemble at the Visitor Center. This activity will be rain or shine.
I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event, organized by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and local Friends groups, to celebrate and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites, and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.
More than 120 New York State Parks, Historic Sites and Public Lands are hosting I LoveMy Park Day events on May 6, 2017. This year's event is the largest ever! Five National Park Service sites are taking part, as well as 15 properties managed by the Department of Environmental Conservation in the Adirondack and Catskill regions and at four environmental centers.
