INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join a ranger and fellow birding enthusiasts every Saturday morning in June for a Beginning Birding program at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. This leisurely hike will be offered from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the national lakeshore’s Great Marsh Trail. No birding experience is required. A spotting scope and binoculars will be provided. The program will start at the southern gravel parking lot followed by a short hike to the Great Marsh observation deck to look for herons, egrets, ducks, and other birds of the marsh. If you arrive late, simply hike to the observation deck to join the event.
The Great Marsh Trail south parking lot is located on Broadway Avenue, about one-quarter mile north of U.S. Highway 12, in Beverly Shores.
