Portion of paved multi-use trail in Rock Creek Park to close for one week

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 6, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - The short section of paved multi-use trail in Rock Creek Park from Tilden Street/Park Road NW to Porter Street NW will be closed Wednesday, June 7 through Tuesday, June 13 so construction crews can repave the trail across Bluff Bridge. The work is part of the larger Beach Drive reconstruction project.

The protected bike/pedestrian detour will be extended from where it currently ends at Bluff Bridge and Beach Drive to follow Beach Drive down to Piney Branch Parkway. Between Piney Branch Parkway and Porter Street NW, pedestrians and cyclists will be directed onto a dirt path.
