A Celebration of the National Park Service 101st Birthday

In celebration of the National Park Service turning 101 years old, Obed Wild and Scenic River will be hosting a combined birthday party and an Art in the Park reception on Friday, Aug. 25, at Obed Visitor Center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg. The festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. (ET).

The festivities will include light refreshments, a birthday cake and live music by the Shelter Road Band. The event will also include a display of photographs from the recent Obed photography contest.

During the evening, the contest’s winning entries will be revealed for five categories:

1. fauna & flora

2. landscapes

3. action-adventure

4. artistic

5. youth.

The winning entries have been judged on technical excellence, originality, creativity, visual impact, and artistic merit.
