September Glimpses of the Past 2017

Watrous, NM: Even on the edge of the frontier in the New Mexico Territory, no “proper" lady of the period would be found out of style. This was no easy task, as keeping up with Victorian fashion often meant wearing an outfit with at least seven layers! The outfits themselves made daily life difficult for many women who were forced into fashions which were not practical to most kinds of work, especially on a frontier fort. Join Ranger Megan Urban and step into the history of Victorian fashion on the open prairie.

This program will be held at the CCHP/Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Center at 116 Bridge Street in Las Vegas, New Mexico on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
