Free Entrance to Point Park in Honor of Veterans Day Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, 2017

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Oct. 30, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Fort Oglethorpe, GA: To honor those who have served in our armed forces, all national parks are waiving entrance fees on Veterans Day weekend, including Point Park, which is part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.

Park entrance fees, including commercial tour entrance fees, will be waived at all 417 national park sites. These fee-free days provide opportunities for individuals and families to find inspiration in America’s Best Idea, our national parks. The National Park Service has the honor of preserving many patriotic icons and majestic landscapes that commemorate and honor the service of American Veterans.

Over the weekend, ranger-guided programs, lasting between 30 and 45 minutes, are given at 11 am and 2 pm, beginning inside the Point Park entrance gate.
