Join Fort Pulaski for Junior Ranger Day

SAVANNAH, GA - Looking for fun, free, and family-friendly activities? Look no further than Savannah’s National Park! Beat the rush to Tybee Island as Fort Pulaski National Monument kicks off National Park Week with Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, April 21st. Visitors of all ages are invited to “explore, learn, and protect" their national parks free of charge.

Park staff will offer a number of fun hands-on activities for Junior Rangers and their families all day long. Participants can earn special Junior Ranger Day keepsakes by participating in a variety of experiences to learn more about the National Park Service and Fort Pulaski.

Along with cannon firing demonstrations there will be a special Hands on History programs demonstrating the use of artillery and signal flags during the American Civil War.

Local members of Parks on the Air, a group of amateur radio enthusiasts, will also be on hand and activate from inside the historic fort. Parks on the Air will demonstrate the use of radio communication while attempting to contact parks from around the country.
