INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join staff and visitors on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, at 2:00 pm at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Visitor Center as we honor those who died while serving our country.
We will show the documentary film Heroes on Deck in the Visitor Center’s auditorium. The film chronicles the role that Chicago and Lake Michigan played in the training of over 15,000 World War II Navy Pilots. The story includes how the pilots were trained and the recovery of some of the over 100 aircraft that ended up at the bottom of Lake Michigan.
The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49, about one mile north of Interstate 94.
