Site Improvement Project Begins at Ellsworth Rock Gardens in Voyageurs National Park

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 18, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

INTERNTIONAL FALLS, MN: Voyageurs National Park maintenance crews will begin a multi-year project this summer to improve the popular Ellsworth Rock Gardens Visitor Destination. The site will remain open to public visitation throughout the construction. The park encourages visitors to watch for equipment and to be respectful of areas marked by caution tape. Signs will also be posted at the site to inform visitors about the project. This summer, park crews will construct an accessible trail system along the east side of the Ellsworth Rock Gardens to allow for greater access to the site. A larger dock, interpretive media, and other improvements are planned for the second stage of the project next season.
