Tonto National Monument to Celebrate International Archaeology Day

Roosevelt, AZ- Join Tonto National Monument to celebreate International Archaeology Day on Oct. 20, 2018.

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., learn about the intricate pottery designs of the Salado from park archeologists. Recreate their patterns or create your own at the pot painting station. This activity is free and open to the public.

At 2:00 p.m., join a park ranger for a guided hike to the Lower Cliff Dwelling. On the way to 700-year-old Salado structure, discover the archeological history of the Monument and learn about some of the artifacts they recoverd. This hike is offered at no additional charge. Park entrance fees apply.
