Expect smoke around Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Nov. 1, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

* Wildland fire staff will burn piles of woody debris near the Northeast Entrance on Thursday, November 1.

* Staff will ignite the piles around 10:00 a.m.

* Expect smoke in the area after 10:00 a.m. and through Friday, November 2.

* Burning the piles is the last step of the Firewise project where staff removed vegetation around buildings in order to reduce the threat of wildfire.
