Horseshoe Bend National Military Park is excited to announce that several guest speakers will be in attendance at this year’s Anniversary of the Battle of the Horseshoe event on Saturday, March 23, 2019. They will help commemorate the battle as well as Alabama’s bicentennial. Speakers are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (CST) and will include:

* Dr. Kathryn Braund ………..…. Hollified Professor of Southern History, Auburn University
* Lance Hatten ………………..… Deputy Director, Southeast Region, National Park Service
* Principal Chief James Floyd ….. Muscogee (Creek) Nation
The day will also be filled with living history demonstrations, kid’s activities, and a chance to tour the battlefield on a ranger led walk. Following is a tentative schedule of activities

A refreshment stand will be available throughout the day with proceeds benefitting the New Site Volunteer Fire Department.
