Come to Homestead National Monument of America for an alien encounter! No not space alien variety. Come for a close encounter of the bug kind! Prairie insects often look alien, but these creatures shouldn’t be feared. On Saturday, August 3rd from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Homestead’s Education Center find out how the aliens all around help the prairie and us. The Aliens!? program will be followed by a take-home craft activity. Don’t forget to check out the final program that is part of the Kids in Parks: Into the Unknown! program series:

“Aliens!? is a fun and educational program that will engage children and their families to explore closely the prairie landscape and its inhabitants," said Mark Engler, Superintendent of Homestead National Monument of America.
The free Kids in Parks: Aliens!? summer program at Homestead is open to the public and will take place at Homestead’s Education Center. We encourage the use of sunscreen, bug spray, and closed toed shoes as we investigate the mysterious unknown of the tall-grass prairie.
