In celebration of the National Park Service turning 103 years old, Obed Wild & Scenic River will host a combined birthday party and 8th annual photo contest reception on Friday, August 23 at Obed Visitor Center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg. The festivities will begin at 5:00 PM (ET).
The festivities will include light refreshments, a birthday cake and live music by Shelter Road Band. The event will also include a display of photographs from the recent Obed photography contest.
During the evening, the contest’s winning entries will be revealed in five categories:
* youth
* artistic
* landscapes
* flora & fauna
* action-adventure
The winning entries have been judged on technical excellence, originality, creativity, visual impact, and artistic merit.
