Voyageurs National Park Seeks Short-Term Housing

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Jan. 30, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MN: The National Park Service (NPS) at Voyageurs National Park seeks to lease an apartment unit or small home in the International Falls commuting area to accommodate a minimum of 2 - 4 summer staff. The total number of staff in the unit will be determined by number of bedrooms and square footage of the proposed unit. The period of the lease being sought is approximately April through October, 2020. Payment for the unit would be through government credit card only.

Preference will be given to fully-furnished residences with two or more bedroom units. All proposals, however, are encouraged and will be given full consideration. Interested parties should contact Administrative Assistant Jennifer Stevens at (218) 283-6618 or at jennifer_stevens@nps.gov prior to 2/14/2020.

Each summer Voyageurs National Park employs around 40 to 70 seasonal employees, interns, and volunteers to assist with a variety of park-related projects. Many of the seasonal team members are from the local community, while a great number travel to the area from other parts of the country and require housing in the area. The park does have seasonal housing in the Ash River area of the park. This leasing opportunity will increase the park’s housing capacity in the International Falls area.
