COOLIDGE, AZ - On Feb. 26, 2020 Casa Grande Ruins will host Casa Grande Ruins’ own Andrea Pike as part of its annual speaker series. The presentation will begin at noon on February 26 featuring Andrea Pike who will present a lecture titled “Frank “The Boss" Pinkley: The Heart of Casa Grande Ruins". The speaker series will continue every Wednesday at noon through March 11.

Andrea Pike has been with the Western National Parks Association since 2017 and works at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. She has a passion for history and retelling the stories of the past for present and future generations.

Frank “The Boss" Pinkley became the resident custodian of the Casa Grande Ruins Reservation on Dec. 12, 1901. Little did he know it would lead to a lifetime passion when he became superintendent of the Southwestern National Monuments in 1923. Join in to hear about the “The Boss’s" life, accomplishments, and views on the preservation and future of the Southwestern National Monuments. A career that spanned 36 years until his death on Feb. 14, 1940.

The Speaker Series is funded by the Friends of Casa Grande Ruins National Monument with additional support from Arizona Humanities. The program begins at 12:00 pm in the Casa Grande Ruins visitor center theater at 1100 W Ruins Drive, Coolidge AZ, 85128. There is no fee for the program, and entrance to Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is free.

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument protects the multi-story Great House and the ruins of other ancient structures built by the people of the Sonoran Desert over 800 years ago.

The monument is open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, May through September, and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, October through April, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Independence Day holidays.
