Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is Modifying Operations to Implement Latest Health Guidance

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 18, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and in response to guidance from local, state, and national public health officials, visitor facilities at Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Site are closed until further notice, effective at noon on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. All park grounds within direct control of the National Park Service will remain open and accessible to the public daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including the plaza at 16 S. Williams Street, Dayton, Ohio. Partner sites operated by the US Air Force, such as the Huffman Prairie Flying Field and the Wright Brothers Hill-Wright Brothers Memorial are open from dawn to dusk unless otherwise directed by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Park facilities will remain closed until the public health situation improves. Ongoing public interpretive programming is available online at park web and social media sites. We value the safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners and believe this action to be in the best interest of public health and safety.

Updates about the NPS response to the coronavirus will be posted on NPS Coronavirus page.
