Denali to Conduct a Debris Pile Burn in the Entrance Area

Fire Management staff at Denali National Park and Preserve (Denali) will conduct a debris pile burn from April 24 - 30, if weather conditions allow. The pile is located near the park’s Admin Camp, Southwest of the park airstrip and Riley Creek Campground.

The pile is approximately 40 feet, by 40 feet, by 30 feet, and consist of trees and brush harvested during fuels reduction work (fire protection) that occurred around the park last summer.

National Park Service (NPS) Fire Management staff will be on-site to monitor the burning. Smoke is expected to be visible in the surrounding area, from the Parks Highway and from aircraft during this time. This pile is expected to burn for three to four days.
