Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania NMP To Alter Exit from Lee Drive to Lafayette Boulevard
Fredericksburg, VA - In response to the construction of a new traffic circle on Lafayette Boulevard to accommodate the new “Fredericksburg Park" development opposite the entrance to Lee Drive, the National Park Service will be permanently altering the traffic pattern at the intersection of Lee Drive and Lafayette Boulevard.
The change will require all vehicles to exit Lee Drive by using the northernmost (downhill) connection to Lafayette Boulevard. The southernmost (uphill) connection from Lee Drive will be closed to exiting traffic. That short stretch of road will be henceforth a right-turn, in-only access for vehicles entering Lee Drive from the northbound lanes of Lafayette Boulevard.
This change is in preparation for the placement of the traffic circle and the shift in the traffic pattern.
The changes will take place on or about Sept. 13, 2020.
