GULF BREEZE, FL. - Gulf Islands National Seashore has released a new mobile application to help park visitors explore the park. The app is available to download on iOS and Android. App users will find an interactive map designed to help visitors locate scenic spots, historical sites, beach accesses, trailheads, campgrounds, and amenities.
“This app features content to help visitors learn about and explore each park area," said Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Dan Brown. “It is a great tool intended to enable more people to experience all the park has to offer." In addition to basic information, the app offers accessible, self-guided tours for users to learn about the park’s historic sites, including forts and batteries. Basic details on the app includes where to find restrooms, tram stops, picnic pavilions, and more.
Most importantly, the app provides visitors with the latest temporary closures and alert updates. App content can be downloaded before arriving at the park and used offline in areas where cell service is not available.
