Cumberland Island Ferry Offers Discount for Camden County Residents

St. Marys, GA - On behalf of Cumberland Island Ferry, operated by Mr. David Lang of Lang Seafood, Inc., Cumberland Island National Seashore announces a winter season ferry ticket discount for Camden County residents of thirty percent off regular ticket prices (before tax). Superintendent Gary Ingram said, “We are very grateful to Mr. Lang for his gift to our community during this wonderful time of year. It has been a shared goal to enhance opportunities to visit Cumberland Island for local residents and their families, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time."

These special, non-refundable tickets will be available from December through the end of February 2021, on a first-come first-served basis only, sold in-person at the National Park Service Visitor Center for trips the same day. A Camden County ID is required for each discounted ticket purchased. Adults may purchase up to four tickets for youth under 16 years of age. The reduced pricing is as follows (before tax):

Adults 16-61 years of age: $21.00

Seniors 62 and above: $19.00

Youth 6-15: $14.00

Youth 5 and under: Free

A $10 per adult entrance fee to the national park still applies. Visitors can plan ahead and pay this on-line at www.pay.gov, search for Cumberland Island NS Weekly Entrance Pass, or pay at the Visitor Center on the day of arrival. If you are a 4th or 5th grader, active military, a military veteran, a Gold Star family, or have a compensable disability, you are eligible for a free pass that allows you and 3 others into national parks for free. Cumberland Island is the largest barrier island off the coast of Georgia, encompassing more than 36,000 acres of maritime forests, salt marsh and beaches. The island is also home to over 9,800 acres of congressionally designated wilderness. The island’s natural and cultural resources provide a rich and diverse habitat for wildlife and offer a glimpse into the long history of coastal Georgia. The seashore is accessible by pedestrian-only passenger ferry from the historic community of St. Marys.
