INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: What better way to enjoy the fall bird migration than to join rangers on a bike ride from the Douglas Center to Marquette Park or West Beach and back on November 13 starting at 1 pm. While enjoying the bike ride you will have the opportunity to stop and do some birding. We will have 8 to 10 bikes for people to borrow or you can bring your own bike. We have a limited number of binoculars so if you have your own, please bring them.
Jennifer Johnson from the Audubon Society and Wild Indigo of Gary will be helping with the birding portion of the program. Rangers will lead the bikers from the Douglas Center to West Beach and back.
The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national park at 100 North Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395- 1821 or check the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu for more information.
