Junior Scientist Day

Junior Scientist Day

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 19. It is reproduced in full below.

Spend the day outside taking in the sights and sounds of plants and animals found in the Driftless Region. Join Ranger Grace, along the Yellow River Boardwalk, on July 23rd between 11:00 am and 4:00 PM, for a chance to become an official Heartland Network Junior Scientist! Limited pairs of binoculars will be provided.

Effigy Mounds National Monument preserves a large concentration of mounds, including many Effigy Mounds, in the shape of animals. The 14 miles of hiking trails provide an insight into the social, spiritual, and ceremonial life of the Native peoples who inhabited and revered this land for thousands of years.
