Effective Oct 1, Park Switches to Tiered Pricing and Online Reservations for Group Campsites

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Aug. 8. It is reproduced in full below.

DEL RIO, TEXAS - Amistad National Recreation Area will implement a fee increase and online reservation system for group campsite permits beginning Oct. 1, 2022. All other fees will remain the same and the standard campsites will remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Currently, the park charges $2 per person, per night with a $30 minimum fee each night up to 14 nights. The increase will move fees from a per-person, per-night fee to a tiered-rate nightly fee. The new tiered rates per night are for 277N Group Campsite: 1-15 people $35 and 16-35 (maximum number for this campsite) $75; for Rock Quarry Group Campsite: 1-15 people $35 and 16-35 people (maximum number) $75; San Pedro Group Campsite: 1-15 people $35, 16-35 people $75, and 36-75 people (maximum number) $155.

The park will also begin taking reservations only for group campsites on Recreation.gov starting Oct. 1, 2022. Recreation.gov is a one-stop-shop for trip planning and reservations to explore and discover America’s outdoor and cultural destinations. Visitors can use the website or the Recreation.gov mobile app to make campsite reservations, secure permits, schedule tours, purchase passes, and more for all federal lands and waters throughout the country. We are pleased to offer the convenience of Recreation.gov, for Amistad National Recreation Area group campsites.
