U.S. Department of Labor publishes 111 press releases in September

There were 111 press releases published by the U.S. Department of Labor in September.

The most recent press release, "US Department of Labor invites Florida’s highway construction industry employers to join survey to set accurate prevailing wage rates," was submitted on Sept. 30.

The U.S. Department of Labor published 95 releases the month before, marking a 16.8 percent increase for the current month.

The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.

The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
