Energy Department Actions to Deploy Combined Heat and Power, Boost Industrial Efficiency

The following press release was published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy on Oct. 21, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) established Wind Powering America (WPA) in 1999 to educate, engage, and enable critical stakeholders to make informed decisions about how wind energy contributes to the U.S. electricity supply. The initiative has an overarching goal of dramatically increasing the use of wind energy in the United States. This week DOE released an independent that presents an evaluation of the impacts and processes of the WPA initiative. The independent evaluation resulted from extensive interviews leading to some insightful findings as well as an assessment of the impacts of the WPA activity, in general and in states where the initiative was active.
