The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Jobs and Economic Development Impacts of Offshore Wind" on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. More than a year ago, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) initiated work to expand the Jobs and Economic Development Impacts (JEDI) model to include fixed-bottom offshore wind technology. Following the model's completion (and in partnership with the Energy Department's Wind Program, Illinois State University, and James Madison University), NREL supported the analysis of the regional jobs and economic impacts of offshore wind for the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Gulf Coast regions. This webinar will provide an overview of the new offshore wind JEDI model and review the four completed assessments.

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Tools for Designing and Implementing Better Clean Energy Financing Programs" on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Rather than selecting from two or three fixed models, a successful clean energy finance program requires a sponsor to make a number of design decisions based on available resources and the needs of the community served. This webinar will outline these key areas for consideration - including potential program sponsors, institutional structure, and potential sources of program revenue - and provide examples of how organizations across the country have blended design decisions into successful programs.

The Energy Department presented a live webinar titled "Using the Street and Parking Facility Lighting Retrofit Financial Analysis Tool" on Thursday, August 22. The webinar describes how property owners, utilities, energy efficiency organizations, cities and other government entities can use the tool to compute annualized energy and energy-cost savings, maintenance savings, greenhouse gas reductions, net present value, and simple payback associated with potential lighting upgrades.
