Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced the award of a contract to Cyber Security Professionals, Inc. of Fairfax, Virginia for Environmental Management Cyber Security Services. This contract is a Time and Materials type contract. The contract contains a $5.2 million estimated value of services, and has a twelve month period of performance.

The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) mission is to complete the safe cleanup of the environmental legacy resulting from five decades of nuclear weapons development and government-sponsored nuclear energy research. The program is one of the largest and most diverse and technically complex environmental cleanup programs in the world and includes responsibility for the cleanup of numerous sites across the country. Integral to that responsibility is the need to safely disposition large volumes of nuclear waste; safeguard and prepare for disposition nuclear materials that could be used in nuclear weapons; deactivate and decommission radiologically and chemically contaminated facilities no longer needed to support the DOE’s mission; and remediate extensive surface and groundwater contamination. To ensure EM Headquarters (HQ) success, the scope of this contract includes critical cyber security support services.

The scope of this forthcoming cyber security services contract will include, but is not limited to, supporting EM in managing various aspects of its information security program in the areas of cyber security and information protection at EM HQ, EM Consolidated Business Center and field site facilities.
