- Researchers from the U.S. Census Bureau will join other demographers, sociologists, economists and professionals from across the country and from different disciplines at the Population Association of America annual conference from April 10-13, 2019, in Austin, Texas. The Population Association of America offers a forum for Census Bureau researchers to present their research for professional discussion and share their findings with the public.
This year, Census Bureau researchers will present findings on a variety of topics including:
* Which American Languages Are Dying? Quantifying the Demographic Vulnerability of Indigenous Languages in the United States
* Cohabitation Over the Last 20 Years: Measuring and Understanding the Changing Demographics of Unmarried Partners
* Migration, Living Arrangements and Poverty Among Puerto Rican-Origin Children: Puerto Rico and the United States
Other presentation topics include the association between opioid use and grandparent caregiving, children’s acculturation demographic analysis, education, and population and aging. These papers use a number of different data sources, including data from the Current Population Survey, the Survey of Income and Program Participation, the American Community Survey and various administrative records sources.
