What:

The U.S. Census Bureau is celebrating the fifth anniversary of The Opportunity Project (TOP) at its first-ever three day virtual conference, featuring more than 35 new products from the Census Bureau and industry collaborators.

There will be 24 sessions at this year’s conference including keynotes, lightning talks and discussions on government innovation, open data strategy and technology for good.

The event will feature products from this year’s Earth-themed sprints based on natural and built environment challenges conducted in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Management and Budget, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Wilson Center, USA for UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), and more than 300 sprint participants.

TOP is a collaborative effort among government agencies, technology companies, startups, universities and nongovernment organizations to translate open data into user-centered tools that help families, communities and businesses nationwide solve real-world problems.
