Washington - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced a final rule with a request for public comment on the Pima Agriculture Cotton and Wool Apparel Manufacturers Funds (Agriculture Pima and Agricultural Wool Trusts, respectively).
The final rule implements the Agriculture Pima Trust and the Agriculture Wool Trust Fund as established by 2014 Farm Bill, explains how USDA will administer the two funds, and provides deadlines for filing affidavits and receiving payments.
The Agriculture Pima Trust is a fund to reduce economic injury to domestic manufacturers resulting from tariffs on cotton fabric that are higher than tariffs on certain apparel articles made of cotton fabric. The Agriculture Wool Trust is a fund to reduce economic injury to domestic manufacturers resulting from tariffs on wool apparel that are higher than tariffs on certain apparel articles made of wool fabric.
This final rule will apply to payment applications under the Agriculture Wool Apparel Manufacturers Trust received electronically (pimawool@fas.usda.gov) on or before April 6, 2015. The rule will also apply to payment applications under the Pima Agriculture Trust fund received electronically (pimawool@fas.usda.gov) on or before April 20, 2015.
This final rule is effective March 9, 2015. Comments concerning this final rule must be received by March 23, 2015.
