Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met with Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov today in Kyiv.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and Minister Kubrakov discussed the impact of Russia’s war of aggression on Ukraine’s contribution to global food security. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield reiterated the urgent need to extend and fully implement the Black Sea Grain Initiative to allow Ukraine’s agricultural exports to reach global markets and ensure food gets to the world’s hungry populations.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield commended the Government of Ukraine’s efforts to maintain the power and heating supply amid renewed attacks on civilian infrastructure. She underscored the U.S. commitment to provide urgent winterization assistance so that the millions of people affected by this war can keep homes warm and the power on during the cold months ahead.
